Dedicated to providing the best available evidence and resources to guide activities aimed at reducing the rate at which people take their lives in Australia, the LIFE website is designed for people across the community who are involved in suicide and self-harm prevention activities.

The Community Broadcasting Suicide Prevention Project uses community radio networks around Australia to build a greater understanding of issues surrounding mental health and suicide prevention. Each month the project team produces 20 radio segments that focus on mental health, suicide prevention and stories of people who have overcome difficult times in their life. 

 

LIFE News

LIFE News is the online newsletter of the National Suicide Prevention Strategy in Australia. Published quarterly, LIFE News features comment, project updates, national and international research, and much more.

LIFE News issue 2, which focuses on suicide prevention and primary care, is now available online.

All the action from Putting LIFE Into Practice (held at the Melbourne Convention Centre) is available online. The event page features podcasts, photos and PowerPoint presentations.

LIFE's primary care page includes information on primary care and suicide prevention, helplines for referral, and a list of useful resources.

Youth suicide is a major health issue in Australia and around the world. LIFE's youth page contains general facts, statistics and trends, and information on key organisations and policy.

LIFE: Promoting Good Practice in Suicide Prevention was developed with funding from the Department of Health and Ageing to support the development and delivery of a wide range of suicide prevention programs and activities aimed at men.

OzHelp is an NSPS funded project that offers support, advice and counselling for apprentices within the construction industry. The project commenced in 2002 and has since widened its geographic reach to include Goulburn, Queanbeyan and NSW.
